Cozy Ground Beef Dinner

1 pound ground beef
1 medium yellow onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 medium carrot, peeled and diced
1 cup frozen peas
1 cup beef broth
1 tablespoon tomato paste
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Instructions

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add diced onion and carrot to the skillet and cook for 5 minutes until softened.
Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
Add ground beef to the skillet and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned and cooked through, about 7-8 minutes.
Drain excess fat from the skillet if necessary.
Stir in tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper.
Pour in beef broth and bring to a simmer.
Add frozen peas and cook for 5 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly and peas are heated through.
Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the beef mixture.
Cover the skillet with a lid and cook for 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted.
Remove from heat and serve warm.
