Banh Mi Rice Bowl

A delicious fusion dish combining the flavors of traditional Vietnamese Banh Mi with a rice bowl.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked jasmine rice
  • 1 cup pickled carrots and daikon
  • 1 cup grilled pork or chicken, sliced
  • 1/2 cucumber, sliced
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1/4 cup sliced jalapeños
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the jasmine rice according to package instructions.
  2. In a bowl, mix the soy sauce and sesame oil.
  3. Layer the cooked rice at the bottom of a bowl.
  4. Add the grilled pork or chicken on top of the rice.
  5. Top with pickled carrots and daikon, cucumber slices, cilantro, and jalapeños.
  6. Drizzle with the soy sauce mixture and sriracha if desired.
  7. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

  • For a vegetarian option, substitute grilled tofu for the meat.
  • Adjust the level of spiciness by adding more or less jalapeños.
  • Can be served warm or cold.
