Breakfast Sausage and Egg Casserole

A hearty and flavorful breakfast casserole featuring savory sausage, fluffy eggs, and melted cheese baked to perfection. Perfect for family breakfasts or brunch gatherings.

1 pound breakfast sausage
8 large eggs
2 cups whole milk
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
4 cups frozen shredded hash brown potatoes, thawed
2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish with cooking spray or butter.
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the breakfast sausage until browned and cooked through, breaking it into small pieces with a spatula. Drain excess grease.
In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, whole milk, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder until well combined.
Spread the thawed hash brown potatoes evenly in the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
Sprinkle the cooked sausage evenly over the hash browns.
Pour the egg mixture evenly over the sausage and hash browns.
Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly on top.
Bake in the preheated oven for 35 to 40 minutes, or until the eggs are set and the top is golden brown.
Remove from the oven and let the casserole cool for 5 minutes before serving.
