  • 500g white fish (such as cod or haddock)
  • 200g smoked fish (such as salmon or haddock)
  • 300ml milk
  • 50g butter
  • 50g flour
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 250g phyllo dough
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. In a saucepan, melt butter and sauté onion and garlic until soft.
  3. Add flour and cook for 1 minute, then gradually whisk in milk to create a smooth sauce.
  4. Stir in the white fish, smoked fish, peas, and dill. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Pour the fish mixture into a baking dish.
  6. Layer the phyllo dough over the fish mixture, brushing each layer with melted butter.
  7. Brush the top layer with beaten egg.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
