Ingredients

Scale

1 pound ground beef
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup tomato sauce
1/4 cup ketchup
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
Salt, to taste
Black pepper, to taste
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1 loaf French bread
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
2 cloves garlic, minced (for garlic butter)
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
Cut the French bread loaf in half lengthwise.
In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic (for garlic butter), and chopped parsley. Spread this mixture evenly over the cut sides of the bread.
Sprinkle the shredded cheddar and mozzarella cheeses evenly over the garlic buttered bread halves.
Place the bread halves on a baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the bread is toasted. Remove from oven and set aside.
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks, about 5-7 minutes.
Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and cook until the onion is translucent, about 3 minutes.
Stir in the tomato sauce, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, chili powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
Reduce the heat to low and simmer the mixture for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened.
Spoon the sloppy joe mixture evenly over the cheesy garlic bread halves.
Slice each half into 2 pieces to serve, making 4 servings total.
Serve warm and enjoy your cheesy garlic bread sloppy joes!
