Celebrate the holiday season with these festive Chocolate Chip Cookie Christmas treats. Soft, chewy cookies packed with chocolate chips and decorated with colorful holiday sprinkles make the perfect sweet gift or party snack.
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 large eggs
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup red and green holiday sprinkles
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract with an electric mixer on medium speed until creamy.
Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, beating on low speed until combined.
Stir in the semisweet chocolate chips with a spatula.
Drop rounded tablespoonfuls of dough about 2 inches apart onto the prepared baking sheets.
Sprinkle the red and green holiday sprinkles evenly over the tops of the cookie dough balls, gently pressing them in slightly.
Bake in the preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown but the centers are still soft.
Remove from oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
