Easy Healthy Broccoli Pasta

  • 8 oz whole wheat pasta
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the whole wheat pasta according to package instructions until al dente.
  2. In the last 3 minutes of cooking, add the broccoli florets to the pasta pot.
  3. In a separate pan, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté the minced garlic and red pepper flakes until fragrant.
  4. Drain the pasta and broccoli, then add them to the pan with garlic.
  5. Toss everything together, seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. If desired, sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese before serving.
