Egg Drop Soup with Shredded Ginger Garnish

Ingredients

  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon shredded ginger
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a pot, bring the chicken broth to a boil.
  2. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water until smooth.
  3. Slowly add the cornstarch mixture to the boiling broth, stirring constantly.
  4. Beat the eggs in a separate bowl and slowly drizzle them into the soup while stirring.
  5. Add soy sauce, sesame oil, and season with salt and pepper.
  6. Remove from heat and garnish with shredded ginger and chopped green onions.

Notes

  • For a thicker soup, increase the amount of cornstarch.
