Grinch Cookies are festive, fun, and perfect for the holiday season, inspired by the beloved Dr. Seuss character.

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 cup green candy melts
  • 1/2 cup red candy melts
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cream of tartar.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in the green candy melts and chocolate chips.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  9. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.

Notes

  • For a more festive look, you can add red candy melts on top of the cookies before baking.
  • Store cookies in an airtight container to keep them fresh.
  • These cookies can be frozen for up to 3 months.
