Ingredients

Scale

1 tablespoon olive oil
1 pound ground beef
1 small yellow onion, finely chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup orzo pasta
2 1/2 cups beef broth
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

Heat olive oil in a large deep skillet or pot over medium-high heat.
Add ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
Add chopped onion and minced garlic to the beef. Cook until the onion is softened, about 3 minutes.
Stir in the orzo pasta, beef broth, dried oregano, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper.
Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to medium-low and simmer uncovered, stirring occasionally, until the orzo is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed, about 12-15 minutes.
Stir in the heavy cream and grated Parmesan cheese until the mixture is creamy and well combined.
Remove from heat and sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
