  • 8 slices of bread, cubed
  • 1 cup of shredded cheese
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups of milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper
  • 1 cup of cooked sausage or bacon, crumbled
  • 1/2 cup of diced bell peppers
  • 1/2 cup of diced onions

Instructions

  1. In a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, layer the cubed bread and sprinkle the cheese on top.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper.
  3. Pour the egg mixture over the bread and cheese.
  4. Sprinkle the cooked sausage or bacon, bell peppers, and onions on top.
  5. Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
  6. The next morning, preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Bake the casserole for 45-50 minutes or until the eggs are set and the top is golden brown.
  8. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
