Roasted Garlic and Herb Butter Turkey

A deliciously roasted turkey infused with garlic and herbs, perfect for festive occasions.

  • 1 whole turkey (12-14 pounds)
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 10 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh sage, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups chicken broth

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix the softened butter with minced garlic, rosemary, thyme, sage, salt, and pepper.
  3. Pat the turkey dry with paper towels and rub the herb butter mixture all over the turkey, including under the skin.
  4. Place the turkey in a roasting pan and pour chicken broth into the bottom of the pan.
  5. Roast the turkey in the preheated oven, basting every 30 minutes, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  6. Let the turkey rest for 20-30 minutes before carving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add lemon zest to the herb butter.
  • Ensure the turkey is fully thawed before cooking.
  • Use a meat thermometer to check for doneness.
