Slow Cooker Chili Dogs

Enjoy classic chili dogs made easy with this slow cooker recipe. Tender hot dogs simmered in a flavorful chili sauce, served on soft buns for a comforting and delicious meal.

1 pound ground beef
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 (15-ounce) can tomato sauce
1 (15-ounce) can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
6 hot dogs
6 hot dog buns

Instructions

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon, about 5 minutes.
Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and cook for 2 more minutes until the onion is softened.
Transfer the cooked beef, onion, and garlic mixture to the slow cooker.
Add the tomato sauce, kidney beans, chili powder, ground cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper to the slow cooker. Stir well to combine.
Cover and cook on low for 4 hours.
About 15 minutes before serving, add the hot dogs to the slow cooker to warm through.
Toast the hot dog buns if desired.
To serve, place a hot dog in each bun and spoon a generous amount of chili over the top.
