Slow Cooker Ground Beef

A simple and versatile slow cooker ground beef recipe perfect for meal prep or as a base for many dishes. Tender, flavorful ground beef cooked slowly to perfection.

1 pound ground beef
1 medium onion, finely chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1 cup beef broth
1 (14.5 ounces) can diced tomatoes, undrained

Instructions

In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon, about 5-7 minutes.
Drain excess fat from the cooked ground beef and transfer it to the slow cooker.
Add the chopped onion, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, dried oregano, and ground cumin to the slow cooker with the beef.
Pour in the beef broth and the can of diced tomatoes with their juice. Stir to combine all ingredients evenly.
Cover the slow cooker with the lid and cook on low heat for 6 hours.
After cooking, stir the mixture well and adjust seasoning with additional salt and pepper if needed.
Serve the slow cooker ground beef as a base for tacos, over rice, or in pasta dishes.
