Spiced Apple Cider

  • 1 orange, sliced
  • 1 lemon, sliced
  • 4 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 teaspoon whole cloves
  • 1 teaspoon allspice berries
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, combine the apple cider, orange slices, lemon slices, cinnamon sticks, cloves, and allspice berries.
  2. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat.
  3. If desired, stir in brown sugar to sweeten.
  4. Reduce heat to low and let it steep for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  5. Strain the cider to remove the spices and fruit slices before serving.
  6. Serve warm, garnished with additional cinnamon sticks or orange slices if desired.
