Sticky Hoisin Salmon with Cucumber Vinegar

A delicious and easy-to-make salmon dish glazed with sticky hoisin sauce and served with a refreshing cucumber vinegar.

  • 4 salmon fillets
  • 1/2 cup hoisin sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 cucumber, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar (for cucumber)
  • 1 tablespoon sugar (for cucumber)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix hoisin sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil.
  3. Place salmon fillets on a baking sheet and brush the hoisin mixture over them.
  4. Bake the salmon for 12-15 minutes or until cooked through.
  5. In another bowl, combine sliced cucumber, rice vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper. Let it marinate for 10 minutes.
  6. Serve the salmon with the cucumber vinegar on the side.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, marinate the salmon in the hoisin sauce mixture for 30 minutes before baking.
  • Adjust the sweetness of the cucumber vinegar by adding more or less sugar.
  • This dish pairs well with steamed rice or quinoa.
