A creamy and rich peanut butter frosting perfect for topping peanut butter cookies or any other favorite treats. This frosting is smooth, easy to make, and delivers a delicious peanut butter flavor with a hint of sweetness.
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
2 cups powdered sugar, sifted
2 tablespoons heavy cream
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened unsalted butter and creamy peanut butter together using an electric mixer on medium speed until smooth and creamy, about 2 minutes.
Gradually add the sifted powdered sugar, about 1/2 cup at a time, beating on low speed after each addition until fully incorporated.
Add the heavy cream, vanilla extract, and salt to the mixture.
Increase the mixer speed to medium-high and beat the frosting for 2 to 3 minutes until light, fluffy, and smooth.
If the frosting is too thick, add an additional teaspoon of heavy cream and beat again until desired consistency is reached.
Use immediately to frost peanut butter cookies or store as instructed.
