Classic Tuna Casserole with French Fried Onions

A comforting and easy-to-make tuna casserole topped with crispy French fried onions. This classic dish combines tender noodles, creamy mushroom soup, and savory tuna for a hearty meal perfect for family dinners.

12 ounces egg noodles
2 cans (5 ounces each) tuna packed in water, drained and flaked
1 can (10.5 ounces) condensed cream of mushroom soup
1 cup frozen peas, thawed
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 1/3 cups French fried onions

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
Cook the egg noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the condensed cream of mushroom soup, milk, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir until smooth.
Add the cooked noodles, drained tuna, thawed peas, chopped onion, and shredded cheddar cheese to the bowl. Mix gently until all ingredients are evenly combined.
Transfer the mixture into a 9×13-inch baking dish and spread evenly.
Bake uncovered in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.
Remove the casserole from the oven and sprinkle the French fried onions evenly over the top.
Return the casserole to the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the onions are golden brown and crispy.
Remove from the oven and let it cool for 5 minutes before serving.
