A classic garlic bread appetizer featuring crusty French bread topped with a flavorful garlic butter spread, toasted to golden perfection. Perfect as a starter for any meal or party snack.
1 loaf French bread, about 12 inches long
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
Slice the French bread loaf in half lengthwise to create two long pieces.
In a medium bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until evenly blended.
Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over the cut sides of both bread halves.
Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the buttered bread.
Place the bread halves on a baking sheet, cut side up.
Bake in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the bread is toasted and the edges are golden brown.
Remove from the oven and let cool for 2 minutes.
Cut the bread into 8 equal pieces and serve warm.
