A rich and flavorful twist on the classic Old Fashioned cocktail, this Banana Bread Old Fashioned combines the warmth of bourbon with the sweet, comforting flavors of ripe banana and brown sugar, finished with a hint of spice for a perfect sipping experience.

Ingredients

2 ounces bourbon
0.5 ounce banana liqueur
0.25 ounce brown sugar simple syrup (see note)
2 dashes Angostura bitters
1 dash orange bitters
1 small banana slice, for garnish
1 orange peel, for garnish
Ice cubes

Instructions

In a mixing glass, combine 2 ounces of bourbon, 0.5 ounce of banana liqueur, 0.25 ounce of brown sugar simple syrup, 2 dashes of Angostura bitters, and 1 dash of orange bitters.
Add ice cubes to the mixing glass and stir gently for about 20 seconds until well chilled and slightly diluted.
Strain the mixture into a rocks glass filled with fresh ice cubes.
Express the oils of an orange peel over the drink by holding it with the outside facing down and giving it a firm twist.
Rub the orange peel around the rim of the glass, then drop it into the drink.
Garnish with a small slice of banana on the rim or floated on top.
Serve immediately and enjoy.
