Crispy and juicy air fryer chicken nuggets made with tender chicken breast pieces coated in a seasoned breadcrumb mixture. Perfectly cooked in the air fryer for a healthier alternative to deep-fried nuggets.

Ingredients

Scale

2 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch pieces
1 cup plain breadcrumbs
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
2 large eggs
2 tablespoons water
Cooking spray

Instructions

Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 5 minutes.
In a shallow bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
In another shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs and water until fully combined.
Dip each chicken piece into the egg mixture, allowing excess to drip off, then coat thoroughly with the breadcrumb mixture. Press the breadcrumbs onto the chicken to adhere well.
Place the coated chicken nuggets in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Lightly spray the nuggets with cooking spray to help them crisp.
Cook the chicken nuggets in the air fryer at 400°F (200°C) for 12 minutes, flipping them halfway through the cooking time to ensure even crisping.
Check that the internal temperature of the chicken nuggets reaches 165°F (74°C) before serving.
Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauces.
