One Pot Creamy Penne Alfredo

A rich and creamy one pot penne Alfredo that’s quick to make and perfect for a comforting weeknight dinner. This recipe combines tender penne pasta with a luscious homemade Alfredo sauce made from butter, garlic, cream, and Parmesan cheese, all cooked together in one pot for easy cleanup.

Ingredients

Scale

12 ounces penne pasta
4 cups whole milk
1 cup heavy cream
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 1/2 cups freshly grated Parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

In a large deep skillet or pot, combine the penne pasta, whole milk, heavy cream, butter, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and ground nutmeg.
Place the pot over medium heat and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, stirring frequently to prevent the milk from scorching.
Cook uncovered, stirring often, until the pasta is tender and most of the liquid has been absorbed, about 15 to 18 minutes.
Reduce the heat to low and stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until it melts completely and the sauce becomes creamy.
Remove the pot from heat and let the pasta sit for 2 minutes to thicken slightly.
Sprinkle the chopped fresh parsley over the pasta and stir gently to combine.
Serve immediately while hot and creamy.
