A wholesome and flavorful turkey meatball dinner served with a rich tomato sauce and tender spaghetti, perfect for a comforting family meal.
1 pound ground turkey
1/2 cup plain breadcrumbs
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 large egg
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 (24-ounce) jar marinara sauce
8 ounces spaghetti
1/4 cup chopped fresh basil
In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, chopped onion, parsley, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
Form the mixture into 16 meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the meatballs in batches, cooking for 5-6 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned on all sides. Remove meatballs and set aside.
Pour marinara sauce into the same skillet and bring to a simmer over medium heat.
Return the meatballs to the skillet, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes until cooked through.
While the meatballs cook, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Divide the spaghetti among four plates. Top with turkey meatballs and spoon sauce over the top.
Garnish with chopped fresh basil and serve immediately.
