1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
3 large eggs

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan or a 9×9-inch square baking pan.
In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and light brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 3 to 4 minutes.
Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
