1 cup warm water (110°F / 43°C)
2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet)
1 teaspoon granulated sugar
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons olive oil, divided
1/2 cup pizza sauce
1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup sliced pepperoni
1/4 cup sliced black olives
1/4 cup sliced green bell pepper

Instructions

In a small bowl, combine warm water, active dry yeast, and sugar. Stir gently and let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and 1 tablespoon olive oil. Stir until a dough forms.
Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Lightly oil the cast iron skillet with 1 tablespoon olive oil, making sure to coat the bottom and sides.
Press the dough evenly into the bottom and slightly up the sides of the skillet.
Spread pizza sauce evenly over the dough.
Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
Add sliced pepperoni, black olives, and green bell pepper evenly on top of the cheese.
Place the skillet on the stove over medium heat and cook for 5 minutes to start crisping the bottom crust.
Transfer the skillet to a preheated oven at 450°F (232°C) and bake for 15 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the crust is golden brown.
Remove the skillet from the oven and let the pizza cool for 3 minutes before slicing and serving.
