Crispy and flavorful air fryer chicken wings coated in a sweet and tangy honey BBQ sauce. Perfectly cooked in the air fryer for a healthier twist on a classic favorite.
2 pounds chicken wings, tips removed and wings separated at the joint
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 cup barbecue sauce
3 tablespoons honey
Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 5 minutes.
In a large bowl, combine the chicken wings, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, and olive oil. Toss until the wings are evenly coated.
Place the wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook for 12 minutes.
After 12 minutes, flip the wings and cook for an additional 8 minutes or until the wings are crispy and cooked through.
While the wings are cooking, in a small bowl, mix together the barbecue sauce and honey until well combined.
Once the wings are cooked, transfer them to a large bowl and pour the honey BBQ sauce over them. Toss the wings gently to coat them evenly with the sauce.
Return the coated wings to the air fryer basket and cook for 3-5 more minutes at 400°F (200°C) to caramelize the sauce, watching carefully to prevent burning.
Remove the wings from the air fryer and let them rest for 2 minutes before serving.
