A savory and comforting one-pan meal featuring tender ground beef, fragrant garlic butter, and fluffy rice cooked together in a skillet for an easy and delicious dinner.
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 pound ground beef
1 medium yellow onion, diced
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup long grain white rice, rinsed
2 cups low sodium beef broth
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 teaspoon dried parsley
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon paprika
1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Add ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes.
Add diced onion to the skillet and cook with the beef until softened, about 3 minutes.
Stir in minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
Add rinsed rice to the skillet and stir to combine with the beef mixture.
Pour in beef broth and stir in salt, black pepper, paprika, and dried parsley.
Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to low and cover the skillet with a tight-fitting lid.
Simmer for 15 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the liquid is absorbed.
Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the unsalted butter until melted and well combined.
Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the top, cover, and let sit for 3-5 minutes until the cheese melts.
Fluff the rice with a fork and serve warm.
