4 ounces cream cheese, softened
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup mashed ripe banana (about 1 medium banana)
2 cups powdered sugar, sifted
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and unsalted butter together using an electric mixer on medium speed until smooth and creamy, about 2 minutes.
Add the mashed ripe banana to the cream cheese mixture and continue beating until fully combined.
Gradually add the sifted powdered sugar, about 1/2 cup at a time, beating on low speed after each addition to avoid a sugar cloud.
Once all the powdered sugar is incorporated, add the vanilla extract and ground cinnamon and beat on medium speed until the frosting is smooth and fluffy, about 2 to 3 minutes.
Use immediately to frost cooled banana muffins or store in the refrigerator until ready to use.
