3 cups water
1 (24-ounce) jar marinara pasta sauce
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil

Instructions

In a large deep skillet or wide saucepan, combine the dried penne pasta, water, jarred marinara sauce, olive oil, garlic powder, dried Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
Stir well to combine all ingredients evenly.
Place the skillet over medium-high heat and bring the mixture to a boil, stirring occasionally to prevent pasta from sticking.
Once boiling, reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer uncovered for 12 to 15 minutes, stirring frequently, until the pasta is cooked through and most of the liquid is absorbed.
Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and combined.
Sprinkle chopped fresh basil over the pasta before serving.
