Juicy and flavorful BBQ chicken breasts cooked to perfection in the air fryer. This quick and easy recipe is perfect for a healthy weeknight dinner or a tasty meal any time you crave delicious barbecue flavor without the grill.
2 boneless skinless chicken breasts, about 6 ounces each
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 cup barbecue sauce, divided
Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 5 minutes.
In a small bowl, mix together smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and chili powder.
Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. Rub the spice mixture evenly over both sides of each chicken breast.
Place the chicken breasts in the air fryer basket in a single layer, making sure they do not overlap.
Cook the chicken breasts in the air fryer at 375°F (190°C) for 9 minutes.
After 9 minutes, flip the chicken breasts over and brush the cooked side with half of the barbecue sauce.
Continue cooking for another 7 to 9 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the chicken is cooked through.
Remove the chicken breasts from the air fryer and brush the remaining barbecue sauce on top.
Let the chicken rest for 3 to 5 minutes before serving to allow the juices to redistribute.
