A quick and easy single-serving apple mug cake that’s moist, fluffy, and bursting with warm apple flavor. Perfect for a cozy dessert or snack made in just minutes.
4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
3 tablespoons milk
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 small apple (about 60 grams), peeled and finely diced
1 tablespoon chopped walnuts (optional)
In a microwave-safe mug (at least 12 oz capacity), combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, ground cinnamon, and ground nutmeg. Stir well to evenly distribute the dry ingredients.
Add the milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the mug. Mix thoroughly until a smooth batter forms with no lumps.
Fold the finely diced apple pieces into the batter until evenly incorporated.
If using, sprinkle the chopped walnuts on top of the batter for added texture.
Microwave the mug on high power for 90 to 120 seconds. The cake should rise and be set but still moist. Cooking times may vary depending on your microwave wattage.
Carefully remove the mug from the microwave (it will be hot). Let the cake cool for 2 minutes before eating.
Enjoy the apple mug cake directly from the mug or transfer to a plate if desired.
