A hearty and comforting slow cooker turkey white bean chili made with ground turkey, white beans, green chilies, and warming spices. Perfect for a cozy meal with minimal prep.
1 pound ground turkey
1 medium yellow onion, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 (15-ounce) cans great northern beans, drained and rinsed
1 (4-ounce) can diced green chilies
1 (14.5-ounce) can chicken broth
1 cup water
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon olive oil
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add diced onion and cook for 3-4 minutes until softened.
Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
Add ground turkey to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon, about 5-7 minutes.
Transfer the cooked turkey, onion, and garlic mixture to the slow cooker.
Add the drained and rinsed great northern beans, diced green chilies, chicken broth, and water to the slow cooker.
Sprinkle in ground cumin, dried oregano, chili powder, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.
Stir all ingredients together until well combined.
Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 6 hours.
After cooking, stir the chili and adjust seasoning with additional salt or pepper if desired.
Serve hot.
