A quick and easy apple mug cake that’s perfect for a cozy single-serving dessert. Made with fresh apple, cinnamon, and simple pantry ingredients, this mug cake is ready in just minutes.
4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons milk
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 small apple, peeled, cored and finely chopped
In a microwave-safe mug (at least 12 oz capacity), combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, ground cinnamon, and salt. Stir well to mix the dry ingredients evenly.
Add the milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the mug. Stir until the batter is smooth and no lumps remain.
Fold in the finely chopped apple pieces until evenly distributed in the batter.
Microwave the mug on high for 1 minute and 45 seconds to 2 minutes, or until the cake has risen and is set in the center. Cooking times may vary depending on your microwave.
Carefully remove the mug from the microwave (it will be hot). Let the cake cool for 1-2 minutes before eating.
Enjoy the apple mug cake directly from the mug or transfer to a plate if desired.
