Ingredients

Scale

1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup packed light brown sugar
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch casserole dish with butter or non-stick spray.
In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and light brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
Fold in the semisweet chocolate chips evenly throughout the dough.
Spread the cookie dough evenly into the prepared casserole dish, smoothing the top with a spatula.
Bake in the preheated oven for 28 to 30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (do not overbake to keep it gooey).
Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 10 minutes before serving warm.
