Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies

1 cup unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
1 cup packed light brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, light brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth and combined.
Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
In a separate bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined. Do not overmix.
Fold in the semisweet chocolate chips evenly throughout the dough.
Using a tablespoon or cookie scoop, drop rounded balls of dough about 2 inches apart onto the prepared baking sheets.
Bake in the preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the edges are set but the centers still look slightly underbaked for maximum chewiness.
Remove the cookies from the oven and allow them to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
